I live in Toronto, was born and raised here. This city is the best place for me, I love it here. There are some things in this city that have chosen me and it has worked out great. My home is my office, gym and home. My life can be busy so, it helps to have all those things in the same place, so I can choose to do which one I want.
I work in Toronto running my own business. My business is supporting children and young adults who have a physical and/or developmental disability and their families. I provide respite among other things. This is a pretty big part of me, if really does define some parts of me.
I have worked in the field of supporting people who have physical and/or developmental disabilities for 18 years now. I love it and couldn’t see myself doing anything else. I became a business and hope that I can run this type of a business for years to come!
This blog is about my work and some of the individuals I support. The title of my page is just that, always an adventure. Even when it is tiring, stressful and annoying, it is still an adventure. I will try to post at least once a week and answer your comments. Happy reading!!!
My son Ian and I read the story about Ben, a boy with disabilities that want Friends.
My son Ian desperately wants to be Bens Friend!
If you would be so kind as to possibly assist us in making a connection so at the very least my son could write to Ben.
Thanks so much for your time and consideration,
Bonnielee

Hey! I found your site through the Huffington Post article about Ben. I’m a 23 year old man with Asperger’s, and I wanted to let you know about a website I made called http://www.improveyoursocialskills.com . There’s a limited amount of resources out there for folks with Asperger’s or other conditions that make socializing hard, so I wanted to create a guide that would give all the advice I wished I had when I was younger 🙂 Perhaps you could share it with some of the clients you work with?
